ABOUT US
Elevating Success UK is a training and personal development charity based in South London with a reach that extends across the capital. Established in November 2007, the organisation has charitable status and works with approximately 1400 individuals per year, consisting of children, young people and adults. Our aim is to support individuals to achieve their full potential. Today we have core delivery areas: Employability Skills, Rehabilitating Offenders, Personal Development, Holiday Programmes, Community Development and Event Management.
Windrush 75th Anniversary
We were pleased to host a community celebration event in Honor Oak recently, to recognise the historic Windrush 75th Anniversary. In June 1948 the HMT Empire Windrush docked in Tilbury, Essex, bringing people from the Caribbean to assist with labour shortages due to the war and help build up Britain's economy. Funding from the National Lottery enabled us to organise this event and people from the local community came out to enjoy a tasty jerk meal, music from the Windrush era and other entertainment. A great time was had by those attending and we show our appreciation for all the achievements that the pioneering Windrush Generation and their descendants have accomplished over the years.
