ELEVATING SUCCESS GETS A ‘HIGH FIVE’ FROM MAYOR OF LEWISHAM, SIR STEVE BULLOCK AND BEVERLEY HUGHES MP, MINISTER OF STATE FOR CHILDREN

Lewisham’s Mayor Bullock and Beverley Hughes the Minister of State for Children, Young People and Families will visit a High-5 training workshop run by Elevating Success on Thursday 12th June to witness the exemplary work the not-for-profit organisation does with young adults.

 “We’re working with hard to reach and vulnerable young adults who have left school and haven’t been able to take the next step into employment or further education,” said Andrew Brown, Director of Elevating Success. “Getting a visit from Lewisham’s Mayor Bullock and the Minister of State for Children is positive affirmation of the work we are doing and a real morale boost for everyone concerned.”

The current eight-week programme held at the Grove Park Youth Club on Marvel’s Lane is targeted at 16-19 year olds and has been funded by Lewisham Youth Services and Lewisham Activity Agreement. Beneficiaries of the course will cover such topics as Motivation, Interview Skills, CV-building, Conflict Management, as well as Drugs and Alcohol awareness training. 

Lucy Newton, Activity Agreement Project Worker said: “I have used Elevating Success as a main activity for the majority of my caseload due to the constant positive outcomes and feedback from the young people and the productive and organised way in which the company is run.”
